About the Role: 

Sketchy is looking for a Content Marketing Manager to guide content marketing strategy, facilitate ongoing content planning, manage day-to-day content creation, editing and promotion, and report on the results of each content marketing initiative. You will lead all content brainstorming for the Sketchy blog and will own the creation funnel of content on the blog, soliciting collateral from program leads, the Senior Copywriter, the founders, and Sketchy students. You will create webinars for Sketchy students and own the collateral to be presented. You will also own all marketing website changes, working closely with the Head of Marketing and Product team. You will report directly to the Head of Marketing and will work closely with others across the marketing, product, and content teams. Note: While you will always have a seat to work from at our Los Angeles Headquarters, our transition to a remote-first company will allow you to work from the location of your choice in select states across the country. As travel and working conditions return back to “normal”, we will find opportunities to increasingly meet and collaborate in person.

Location: This role is open to remote employees in select US states: California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, and Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Increase web traffic and brand awareness through the marketing of content online and creating "shareable" content, distributing content on the appropriate platforms and measuring the results of marketing activity.
  • Guide content marketing strategy, facilitate ongoing content planning, manage day-to-day content creation, editing and promotion, and report on the results of each content marketing initiative.
  • Own the Sketchy blog! You are the gatekeeper for all content we publish. You will continually optimize organic growth of Sketchy by soliciting and curating content internally from the program leads, the creative team, from outside subject matter experts, the founders, and the Senior Copywriter.
  • Program the publishing calendar for all blog content, leveraging viewership and engagement data, on the Sketchy owned website(s) as well as across multiple communication channels including email and social in partnership with the Head of Lifecycle and the Head of Audience Development, respectively.
  • You will create a student submission program to collect inbound SEO content from Sketchy students, highlighting the best and brightest of Sketchy’s users.
  • You will create an influencer submission program to collect inbound SEO content from Sketchy influencers, highlighting the best and brightest of Sketchy’s influencers.
  • Work closely with the Demand Generation, Sr. Manager to support their Campus Ambassador needs. You will aid in the creation of webinar content that will inform students across the country about Sketchy and its value.
  • You're at the wheel of all marketing website changes. Any and all updates to the marketing website and marketing landing pages go through you. You will create an approval process and ensure the process is followed at all times.

 Preferred Experience:

  • 3-5 years of marketing experience at a D2C company.
  • You are a hustler! You understand how to get and hold people’s attention.
  • Superior organizational, planning and project management skills. Must be detail-oriented.
  • Expert in marketing collateral ownership, including needs, delegation, and distribution to customers.
  • You have an eye for viral content and can move quickly to get that content published.
  • You understand SEO and why an active blog is critical.
  • You measure success with data. Your decision making is driven first by measurable results and second by intuition.
  • BONUS if you have a design background. Management of the Sketchy marketing website is only part of the job. You should have a keen design eye with a tilt to funnel optimization.
  • Superb stakeholder management skills, adept at navigating relationships and prioritizing requests.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • BA in marketing or related field. MBA is a bonus but not required. Experience and proven track record is most desirable.
